Prince

I always wanted a prince

He’d come on his white horse to save me 

We would get married on a mountain beside the beach 

his love is all he’d gave me.

We would run away together 

and create our little family 

my only wish is that he’d stay

through good and bad around me.

He’d always fight for me

and would always be by my side

he’d never leave me wondering 

he’d be in plain sight.

I’ve been such a fool all these years

I am my own prince 

and I’m dealing with my fears.

I am the one who saves me

no other prince is coming 

I will always be here for me

a prince I am becoming.

Through good and bad I’ll fight for me

I will always be here

I’ll never leave myself again

no matter what I fear.

I promise I’ll take care of myself 

and nobody will hurt me

I’ll respect myself enough

no matter how much I’m hurting.

So, I thank myself for staying strong 

leaving my prince behind

all I will ever have is me

dream prince I’m saying goodbye.
