What does toxic positivity sound like?

- You just have to stay positive
Although I believe that these expressions come from a place of love, they can be really hurtful. This point of view minimizes your problems. It leads you feeling lonely, believing that your feelings are invalid. Let me tell you something. Your feelings ARE VALID. What you're going through IS REAL.
Many people have it worse, but what you're stuggling with still matters. When you're going through a difficult period of time and you have to face many problems or even one, you cannot always stay positive.
Let your emotions emerge.
Feel them to your core.
Life is not always bright.
You can feel sad, angry, jealous, disappointed, let down. Just don't let your feelings consume you.
Identifying your emotions is so important.
Don't let anyone tell you that what you're feeling is not real. What you're going through is real. Whatever keeps hurting you IS REAL. It IS VALID. Even though some things might not matter to others, they matter to you and that itself is important enough.
Recognise your feelings and don't ever let anyone else judge them.
